Jean Philippe Fanfant comes from a family of musicians from Guadeloupe for three generations: he is the son of singer and percussionist Guy Fanfant, and the grand-son of jazz musician Roger Fanfant. His brother, Thierry Fanfant, is a renowned bassist. Very versatile, Jean Philippe Fanfant played both the French variety, jazz and Caribbean music. He accompanied among other Julien Clerc, Maxime le Forestier, Bernard Lavilliers, Laurent Voulzy, Tania Maria, Mario Canonge, Kassav ‘or more recently Christophe Mae and Hubert-Félix Thiéfaine. He was the house band drummer of the TV show “Nouvelle Star” on M6 from 2004 to 2009. In addition, he founded in 2005, the project “Sakesho” with Andy Narell, Mario Canonge & Michel Alibo for the album “We Want You To Say”. In 2012 and 2013, he has the seat of the drummer for the talent show “The Voice” on TF1, always with his good humor. He is also currently the drummer of ex-Telephone’s guitar player Louis Bertignac on the tour, “Suis-Moi”.
