Schmitt/Berlan Drum Method – Binary Module 10: 16th Note Pattern on Syncopated Bass Drum Strokes
Those Modules from BM10 to BM12 are the consecration of a flawless foundation and tempo. You will work on your bass drum dexterity.
Damien will share you his bass drum technique to play 2 or 3 bass drum hits quickly.
These bass drum shifts in groups of 2 and 3 are going to make a difference. They will bring you this solidity and this dexterity that we like to hear and that sometimes gives the impression of playing in double pedal.
You won’t have any fragility in the groove when you give 2 or 3 bass drum hits after working on these Modules…
Don’t forget that it’s important to work slowly and speed up the tempos gradually. When you feel comfortable with one tempo, you can move on to the next one. If you are not yet comfortable with a tempo, do not increase it. Your muscle memory needs time to register the movement, and your body needs to find its balance to be solid on the tempo.
Increasing the tempo before being comfortable will only weaken your playing.
